good advice

good advice

hooray! today i'm going on holiday! it's going to be so nice to have my first proper break since march, with no internet & no work. when i come back, i've got lots to do, & you can help while i'm away. what i'd like to know is, what's your favourite piece of good advice? perhaps it's something your family have passed on, or a friend has shared, or you picked it up in a book or a song. whatever it is, i'd like to hear it.

have a good weekend!

stay hungry, stay foolish. I learnt that one myself, but Steve Jobs put it into words for me.

And I think smiling is always good. It helps to surround yourself with loving, inspiring people.

OH - I have more to say but I have to go to bed. There's my last one, let your body rest when it needs to! listen to the signs...

Treat people how you would like to be treated.

If your going to say something say it.

You are who you are.

Every day.

My god what a difference it makes to everything.

I suppose it's advice in a roundabout way:
"We accept the love we think we deserve."

It's from the Perks Of Being A Wallflower.

opportunity ALWAYS knock twice, or thrice. Sometimes you just don't hear them well enough to recognize it.

I heard that from a schoolteacher when I decided to forego a competition to focus on my studies. And you know what? It did come around a-knocking again! :)

Happy holidays Jen! I think it would be lovely to go for a little R&R myself too.

When i was quite little i was afraid of ghostly type things, but my gran told me "it's not the dead you've to be scared of, it's the living".
Ever since then i've been very much into the paranomral as you know and i'm quite comfortable in spooky dark rooms in castles or such like. More sense to be wary in a dark street at night from getting mugged than to be wary of some dead guy walking through a wall...

makes sense to me anyway.

where on earth did the cherry-pig one come from?!

Fife probably. It just means don't waste anything on something that won't appreciate it.
