i've put off blogging about it hoping that it'd eventually go away, but it's been weeks & i'm still in this weird little funk. this february & later half of january have been strange. i've been feeling so tired, unmotivated & uninspired, despite attempts to dissuade such things. there are a number of factors (mainly day-job & gloomy weather) that are to blame, but i'm getting tired of waiting it out! so, now that it's out in the open, i'm setting myself the task of doing something creative every day over the next five days, & i'll post the results here for all to see. hopefully something as little as having something to show will encourage me to keep on making.

Ah, how awful. The weather won't be helping! I look forwards to seeing what you come up with this week. Hopefully us commenters can be your cheerleaders :)
that would be excellent. some mini pompoms may be in order!
i agree with Claire:)
I felt similarly over December and January, it's definately the dark days I think. Setting yourself some challenges sounds like a good plan :)
thanks guys. plans definitely seem to help.
hello jen. i hope you find your 'click' soon. i have followed your blog since i saw your work in london 2008. it can be hard. i am the same what with the day job especially. just do what you can and make sure there is time for you to enjoy as well. all the best. dx.
'Funk's as you say, are horrid little things and at the time feel as though you are trudging through miles and miles of thick mud. But chin up - if I had half the quality of body of work as you I think I'd feel chipper all day through. Can't wait to see what your 5 day project brings.
P.S I was also in the Anorak totem pole too!
that's really sweet, thanks. :)
anorak totem-pole high five!
Hi, i cant remember how i stumbled across your blog now, probably a friend of a friend, but i think these slumps affect the best of us creative lot. thought it might help to hear that a stranger thinks your work is lovely, n i hope you feel happier soon :)
it's true, they do, & i can at least take refuge in the fact that i'm not alone! thanks for your kind words, they're much appreciated. :)
I've been feeling the exact same way. I think for me it really is the lack of sunlight, I can not wait until the days get longer! I hope you get out of your funk soon and lI ook forward to seeing what you create. :)
i know the feeling... a few weeks ago i started doing a morning collage, little doodle, anything before i start the day just to get it going.
i'm finding it works as there's no pressure for it to be anything other than just an exercise to get the creative juices going :)
